Chong Mo: Opening The Central Channel
The Chong Mo (also called the Thrusting or Central) channel is the largest and most important energy pathway within the Taoist Qigong system. It is the foundation to all the higher level practices as it is responsible for the transformation of qi. This channel penetrates all the organs, glands, and the brain. It also contains all of our chakra cauldrons which are over laid within it.
The Chong Mo channel actually consists of 3 channels that run within it and is located in front of our spine with pathways flowing through each of our legs and feet with a flow extending through the outer edge of our field. This central channel is typically about 3 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep.
Our Chong Mo is the primary channel that relays our spiritual information cultivated through our shengong practice into our qi system. It is the vertical pole connecting us to heaven and earth. It provides a stabilizing effect, teaching us to lean on our energy system by allowing us to ground into our own truth on a qi level as we move through the story of our lives.
